I can honestly say the 2007 NY Mets are done. Thier slogan coming into this season: "Your Season has Come." I think that seems more apporiate for the Phillies. The slogan for the final weekend of the regular season at Shea might as well be "Your Season has Come and Gone." I might be stepping on some toes when bashing the Mets but isn't that what makes the Yankees-Mets fan rivalry so great?I honestly thought that last night the Mets would turn it around, but quickly it turned ugly. 2-0 in the 1st inning and the rest is history. As a die-hard Yankee fan, I am loving every minute of the Mets fan's misery. I mean come on, why not? All year long all I heard was "..at least we're in first place" and now finally, when it's really matters..on the brink of the postseason, the Mets are pretty much sleeping in the death beds they made for themselves. I am loving this stretch run that has now seen the Phillies overtake the Mets atop the NL East. I have stuck by my Yanks all season long and I'm proud to say that they overcame such a horrible start. Yankee fans support their team all year..Met fans seemed to have abandoned their team this week. Where have all the Mets fans gone? Shea Stadium was empty and quiet all week. Yankee Stadium is always filled, even through the days of being 21-29 and 14.5 out.
And the debate begins..which team has the more loyal fans? I'd say just look at the attendance figures and that will give you your answer. I dont want to hear we're suppose to win because we have a high payroll (which is NOT $200 million), because the Mets have a high payroll themselves. So that has no bearing on the debate. This is why I chose to write a bloq on the Mets collapse. I dont think they deserve to make it to October. The Phillies have earned their way into the dance. The same way, I hate to admit this...the 2004 Red Sox earned their World Series victory. Citizens Bank Ballpark is filled with excitement, with fire, with hunger and mostly importantly..with fans that are sticking by their team down the stretch and yes, the fans are playing a part in this all. Where do you think the Phillies are getting the fire from? From fans that believe. Jimmy Rollins doesn't look so stupid now for his bold preseason prediction proclaming "..the Phillies are the team to beat." He has proven to back up his words with an MVP caliber season. He has proved HE is the best SS in the National League. He's started every single game this season. Jose Reyes isn't dancing around anymore is he? 2 stolen bases in the last 2 weeks? He isn't even the best SS in New York...yes I said it, because Derek Jeter gets the big hits and makes everyone else around him better. Reyes has been left for dead during the recent slide and a "great" player doesn't do that. That's what seperates Jeter and Reyes..and the four championship rings Derek has.Look at the faces and they tell you the story. There's no confidence and there's the look of desperation and frustration. Everything that can go wrong is going wrong. It looks like it's going to be a quiet October in Queens...unless of course the Mets win the next two games. Even that might not help if the Phils keep winning.
Most Met fans have chosen to look the other way this week. And now it's the Yankee fan's turn to gloat just a bit. We're not cocky fans, we're just proud of our team and can't stand when other fans make premature statements and take pride for something they have not won or accomplished. No more excuses, 2 games to go...2 games out of the wild card and 1 game out in the NL East...doesnt look good for the Mets, but I'll tell you what is amazin...the potental collapse of the 2007 NY Mets.

Yankees-Red Sox. A rivalry like no other in sports. The two teams begin a crucial 3 game series at Yankee Stadium Tuesday night.Andy Pettitte (11-7, 3.69) faces Daisuke Matsuzaka (13-10, 3.76) in the series opener. The Red Sox are coming into the Stadium fresh off a 4 game sweep of the Chicago White Sox , the Yanks, come off a 16-0 debacle at the hands of the Detriot Tigers in the finale of a 4 game series, which saw the Bombers lose 3 of 4 and lose 3 games in the standings to Boston.
The Yankees won again on Sunday. Like you should be surprised. They're 23-8 since the All-Star break and have won eight of their last nine games. They stand only four games out of first place and are tied for the lead in the wild card.
By now we have all seen the video, we have all read the papers and we all know Barry Bonds is your new All-Time HR leader. How does that sound? Not too good to most people.
Steroids or not, what Bonds accomplished was nothing short of spectacular and last night demonstrated just that. Several Major Leaguers have been suspended for using illegal performance enhancing drugs and still haven't accomplished anything near what Barry did. It still takes skill to hit a ball over the fence. Did Barry have a little help? All the evidence leads you to believe yes. But what evidence are we talking about? His physical appearance? He allegedly began using steroids in 1998, and since then, his appearance has bulked up, to the point where he's stronger and his bat speed is quicker than it was back in his 20's. He is under investigation for perjury by a federal grand jury regarding his testimony in the BALCO case, but he has not been indicted. His trainer Greg Anderson has been in and out of jail solely because he won't talk on the issue of what he knows about Bonds and steroids. In 2003 Anderson was indicted by a federal grand jury in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and charged with supplying anabolic steroids to athletes. In March, 2006 the book Game of Shadows, written by Lance Williams and Mark Fainaru-Wada, was released and stated that Bonds used stanozolol and a host of other steroids. That's more than enough evidence for most people.
One pitch is all it took from Kansas City starter Kyle Davies and A-Rod put his name in the history books. Once the ball left the bat, A-Rod stood at home plate and watched history fly into the left field seats. The show of emotion from Alex as he rounded the bases was all you needed to see to know how much he wanted to get this historic homerun out of the way.
If you didn't already know, the New York Yankees are worth alot of money. What you probably don't know, YES, the cable network that carries the Yankees is worth even more. According to 
Here we go again...Alex Rodriguez is making headlines. This time, Jose Canseco has the dirt on A-Rod. Canseco allegedly has information on Rodriguez that he plans to reveal in his next book. He did not disclose if the info was directly related to steroIds.
It seems as if “Godzilla” has finally found his stroke, probably at one of the best times of the season. The Yankees need him, and everyone else for that matter, to produce. Alex Rodriguez can't do it alone. Matsui bats behind Rodriguez, in the fifth spot in the lineup, and right now he’s even hotter than the A.L. MVP candidate. In Sunday’s game Matsui went 5-for-6 with a HR and 2 RBI. His 5 hits tied his career high which was set in Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS against Boston. He has lifted his season average to .291.
Various sources are indicating several interesting stances on this situation. 
The first half of the 2007 season has come and gone. With all the stories of the first half, one story can not be overlooked - the disappointment of the New York Yankees. After 85 games, the Bronx Bombers boast a baffling 42-43 mark and sit 10 games out of first place going into the break. How stunning is it? This is the first time since 1995 that they are under .500 before the All Star Break. The greatest closer of all-time, Mariano Rivera, only has 11 saves. They are 6-15 in 1-run games. They threw a pro-rated 28 million dollars at a 44 year old (he’ll be 45 next month) in mid May. They were swept by the Colorado Rockies. They became the first team in MLB history to use 10 different starting pitchers in its first 30 games. They spent 46 million on Kei Igawa, and he’s spent most of the last 2 months in the minors. The list can go on and on, but hey, let’s lay off them for now. It is only the All-Star break.
